SiteAssay vs Hunter.io

Hunter does one thing extremely well: given a domain, it finds and verifies the addresses behind it. That is a genuinely useful utility. It is also the step after the two harder questions, which are which domain and why.

In one line

Hunter tells you the address. SiteAssay tells you which business, why now, and what to say.

What Hunter.io does better

  • Finding and verifying addresses at a domain, which is its whole focus
  • Bulk verification accuracy and a reputation built on it
  • A simple, cheap utility that drops into any stack
  • Unlimited seats on paid plans

Published pricing: A free tier, then $49/mo to $299/mo.

Hunter.io alternative: when it is the right call

You already have a list of domains. If building the list is the hard part, a verifier does not help with it.

Capability by capability

Every entry in the Hunter.io column is taken from their own published pricing and feature pages on the date at the foot of this page. Where something is not part of their product, the row says that rather than implying it.

Questions this raises

Is SiteAssay a Hunter.io alternative?

Not for bulk email verification, which Hunter does better and cheaper than anything bundled here. It is an alternative to the whole workflow Hunter sits inside: instead of finding a list, verifying it and writing something, you search a trade and a city and get audited businesses with published addresses and a drafted email already attached.

Do you verify email addresses?

To the extent that matters for sending: syntax, domain and MX records, plus permanent suppression of anything that has unsubscribed, complained or hard bounced. It is not a bulk verification service and we would not sell it as one.
